Arts Awards - Wiltshire’s Flame
To celebrate the Olympic year Wiltshire Council and Arts Award South West are collaborating on a project to celebrate the creativity and energy of young people within Wiltshire. The aim of the project is to enable hundreds of young people to take part in dozens of projects all across the County inspired by the Olympic Flame.
Wiltshire Council Arts Service and Arts Award have been working together to provide subsidised training for people to become Arts Award Advisers - which means they can deliver the award with any young people aged 11-25. Training has been offered at a subsidised rate and over the past few month we have trained 31 new advisers in Wiltshire.
Projects are now being initiated across the county to guide young people through achieving an award and we aim to hold two awards ceremonies, the first will be timed to mark the journey of the Olympic Flame through Wiltshire and the second will be timed to coincide with the closing of the Olympic Games. At these ceremonies a panel of judges will select the best three projects to be awarded a Bronze, Silver and Gold commemorative coin.

Arts
Council England aims to make
sure that every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts. Artsmark
is the national programme that enables schools, further education colleges and youth justice settings
to evaluate, celebrate and strengthen a quality arts offer in order to raise achievement and aspirations.
Artsmark aims to make sure that children and young people are able to develop their artistic capabilities, experience and engage with a range of art forms. It is developed in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Department of Education and Ofsted.
The deadline for Artsmark Round 12 has now passed. Watch the Artsmark website for details about Round 13 and more information about the programme.
