Projects we have funded through the arts project grant scheme include:

  • 'When You Go Away' – A part of the ‘Other Worlds’ project that explores the world of the soldier through the visual arts, When You Go Away invited hundreds of school children from military families to make a clay figure of a loved one who was serving overseas. Over 1600 clay figures were exhibited together at the Young Gallery.
  • 'Pewsey Gallery Arts Centre' – A new gallery supporting Wiltshire artists and crafts ‘made in Wiltshire’ launched its first summer school season for children 11+ in the Pewsey and surrounding area.
  • 'Dhol Foundation and Bollywood Brass Residency' – The WOMAD Foundation was able to extend this residency from Malmesbury Schools to the villages of Oaksey and Sherston. Workshops and performances were enjoyed by about 135 people. Feedback from Sherston’s community included “The Bhangra dancing in the field will live on in people’s memories for many years to come!”
