Visiting authors and writers

Customer notice

Due to essential maintenance work on Wednesday 16 May 2012 there may be some disruption to the following services for a short period of time from 6pm:

  • Rights of Way, Wiltshire Swindon Learning Resource, Schools Directory, Wiltshire Community History and Wills
  • Please tell us what you think about our website, we welcome your feedback.

We work with publishers, and authors and writers, to arrange visits from authors who are doing book tours. We often have to get an audience of a particular size which is why it is really important to us that you book your ticket in advance if possible.

Arranging your own event

The regional literature development agency, Cyprus Well, also provides a reading and literature related What’s On calendar for the south west.

In 2012 Cyprus Well expect to launch a Grassroots Literature fund which will allow local groups to bid for money to host their own literature or reading event. We would be interested to work with a small number of groups to host such events in the library. If you have any ideas, please mention them at your local library.
