There are many search engines that can be used to find information on the Internet. These are particularly good and have a UK emphasis.

Excellent, reliable search engine. There is a tab for searching for images, and also a directory.
Yahoo - ·uk.yahoo.com
Yahoo is a directory style search engine, which means that you can use the various subject headings to search or browse. Also provides an email service.
BBCi - ·www.bbc.co.uk
New feature on the BBC web site, especially good for entertainment and leisure searches.
AltaVista - ·uk.altavista.com
Like Yahoo, it is a directory style. There is an easy option for searching in a different language.
Lycos - ·www.lycosuk.co.uk
Good for leisure, news and sports, also offers an email service.
