How does the service work?
- Borrow up to 3 eBooks at a time for free.
- Choose a loan period of 7, 14 or 21 days. eBooks can be returned early so another can be checked out.
- eBooks will automatically expire at the end of the loan period so no need to worry about overdue charges.
- Reserve up to 3 eBooks at a time for free.
- Read your eBooks on a wide range of devices such as Kobo, Sony and Nook eReaders as well as the iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry devices.
- Unfortunately this service will not be available on the Amazon Kindle.
- The text in eBooks can be enlarged on most devices so all title can be read in large print.
What you need
- An Internet-connected computer.
- A valid library card.
- Adobe Digital Editions for Mac or PC or the Overdrive mobile application.
How to download an eBook
Step 1: Browse
- Browse the website at http://wiltshire.lib.overdrive.com
- Search by title, subject, author, or format.
Step 2: Check Out
- Add selections to your ‘Basket’. Note: if a title is not available, you may place a hold. You will receive an email when the title is available for checkout.
- Click on the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ link and enter your library card number and PIN.
Step 3: Download ... enjoy!
- Click the ‘Download’ button under each title to launch the software.
- Once downloaded, most titles can be transferred to a variety of devices, including Kobo and Sony eReaders, iPhone, iPad, and many other mobile devices. For a full list of compatible devices visit the Overdrive Device Resource Center.
- Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no overdue charges.
