Health Matters is a new health information support service providing easy access to health advice and information in twelve of Wiltshire’s libraries by offering a weekly, half day, drop-in session enabling you to have a chat with a health professional and to have easy access to books, leaflets and general health information.

This service is a partnership venture involving Macmillan Cancer Support, Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Primary Care Trust; it has evolved from the successful Cancer Information Support Service which ran from Warminster Library until 2008. This new service has a wider brief to include general health and wellbeing.

The drop-in sessions are hosted by a health professional from Wiltshire Community Health Services neighbourhood teams; the library service provides books and leaflets as well as online resources; Macmillan Cancer Support provides information material connected with their areas of expertise.

Come and check out our special collection of books and leaflets for everything you need to know from healthy lifestyles to in-depth information on illnesses and don’t forget - it’s free to join the library and borrow books. Advice is also available as to the best websites to use.
