you may be able to get the Carer premium wich is extra money added to Income Support, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. You may be able to claim this if you claimed Carers Allowance but cannot get it because you already have another benefit paid at the same or higher amount. A claimant is entitled to the carer's premium if s/he or her/his partner is entitled to carer's allowance. Check with your local Benefits office or Jobcentre Plus office.

paid if you need help looking after yourself before you reach the age of 65
paid for a child if they need more help or looking after than other children of the same age because of illness or disability
paid if you are incapable of work because of sickness or disability
