The form to submit your details is available via the ‘apply online' button, under the ‘COVID-19 small business grants or retail, hospitality and leisure grant form' heading. The Discretionary Fund is now closed. Applications are now being considered and applicants will be notified in due course.

FAQs for small business / retail, hospitality and leisure grants
Small Business Grant Fund
Under the Small Business Grant Fund (SBGF) all businesses in England in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) or Rural Rates Relief (RRR) as of the 11 March 2020 will be eligible for a payment of £10,000.
Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund
Under the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant (RHLG) businesses in England that would have been in receipt of the Expanded Retail Discount (which covers retail, hospitality and leisure) on 11 March 2020, with a rateable value of less than £51,000, will be eligible for cash grants of up to £25,000 per property.
Eligible businesses in these sectors with a property that has a rateable value of up to and including £15,000 will receive a grant of £10,000. Eligible businesses in these sectors with a property that has a rateable value of £15,000.01 or over and less than £51,000 will receive a grant of £25,000. Businesses with a rateable value of £51,000 or over are not eligible for this scheme. Businesses which are not ratepayers in the business rates system are not included in this scheme.
Can I claim both grants?
Recipient businesses eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund will not be eligible for the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant. If that business you currently get Small Business Rate Relief then you can claim a Small Business Grant, but that business will not be able to claim a Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant. If you have a separate Retail, Hospitality or Leisure business that does not claim Small Business rate relief then you can also claim the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant for that business.Close
Businesses can only get one grant under the Small Business Grant Scheme.
Businesses eligible for the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure scheme can claim one grant per eligible property. They will need to complete one online application for each individual property.Close

Provided you are an eligible ratepayer with an eligible rating assessment then you will qualify.
Each hereditament will only have one registered ratepayer. They will take receipt of the grant.

Errors and omissions on application forms delay the payment process as they create a need for additional levels of scrutiny. If you do find the missing information or realise you have made an error, please email it to Covid-19BusinessSupport@wiltshire.gov.uk and include the application ref number from the acknowledgement email issued on submission of your form.

We will email you if your application has been approved and the grant is being paid into your bank account. Once approved, the funds can take up to 5 working days to enter your bank account
The Assessment team will get in touch with you should there be any queries regarding your application. There is no need to contact us, if we need further details we will contact you directly. As the teams are working seven days a week you may be contacted over the weekend

Yes, the Small Business Grants, and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants will be subject to tax. Only businesses which make an overall profit once grant income is included will be subject to tax, as it is considered right that they contribute to our vital public services at this time.
This government grant is not a loan and does not need to be paid back. However, if grants are paid incorrectly, or due to incorrect information, they will need to be repaid.Close
COVID-19 Small Business Grants or Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant FormApply online
To submit your form, you will need the following information:
- Business Name (registered with Companies House)
- Companies House Certificate of Incorporation Reference Number (or other reference number)
- VAT registration number (as registered with HMRC) where applicable
- Business rates account reference number
This applies to the following schemes:
For businesses that pay little or no businesses rates. This will provide a one-off grant of £10,000 to businesses in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) or rural rates relief. If your business is eligible for SBRR or rural rate relief, we will contact you you do not need to apply.
The Retail and Hospitality Grant Scheme provides businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors with a cash grant of up to £25,000 per property.
- For businesses in these sectors with a rateable value of under £15,000, they will receive a grant of £10,000
- For businesses in these sectors with a rateable value of between £15,001 and £51,000, they will receive a grant of £25,000.
