A Farmers' Market is where local producers can sell their own food and drink direct to the public. All stallholders must follow strict trading guidelines that ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality for the consumer.
Farmers' markets are the subject of routine checking by food safety officers from your local Environmental Health and Trading Standards Department, who may visit you on the day a market is held. In addition, the farm or other premises from which you operate may also be subject to inspection. Further information can be obtained from our leaflet Farmers' Market Sales, a paper copy can be obtained by contacting us below.
