Support and training packages for childminders

  • You will meet a set of nationally recognised professional standards (Children Come First - PACEY), which will help you demonstrate your ongoing commitment to your career and professional development
  • Receive high-quality support and training
  • Increase your chances of obtaining a Good or Outstanding OFSTED judgement
  • Be assigned a Childcare Officer who is your direct source for information and support by phone and email
  • Receive up-to-date information including news, changes to childminding, briefings, practice guides and factsheets
  • Opportunity to attend cluster group meetings in your area to share best practice, network with other childminders and debate local and national issues effecting the childcare sector
  • Free Training and priority booking on specific courses organised by the Childcare Team (see membership categories below for details of how much free training is on offer)
  • Free pre and post-inspection support
  • Support following any actions given by Ofsted or any safeguarding concerns related to yourself or the children you care for
  • Membership newsletter
  • A certificate and letter that you can share with Ofsted and parents/carers confirming your membership

To be part of a QI Cluster, there are two categories of membership;

SILVER: All the benefits listed above PLUS

  • One support visit and one unannounced visit per year from your Childcare Officer (including additional visits to work through the initial assessment)
  • Six hours of Free training per year organised by the Childcare Team
  • Silver membership costs just £10 a month by 12 monthly direct debit payments.  Alternatively, you can pay a one-off fee of £114 which includes a 5% discount, usually £120.  (NB: there is a 12% surcharge for payment by credit card.  Debit card payments are free.)

GOLD: All the benefits listed above PLUS

  • Two support visits and one unannounced visit per year from your Childcare Officer (including additional visits to work through the initial assessment)
  • 12hours of Free training per year organised by the Childcare Team
  • Gold membership costs just £16.67 a month for 11 months and final month £16.63 by 12 monthly direct debit payments.  Alternatively, you can pay a one-off fee of £190 which includes a 5% discount, usually £200.  (NB: there is a 12% surcharge for payment by credit card.  Debit card payments are free.)

Remember: Cost of membership can be offset against tax as a professional membership annually.
