On 1st April 2017 the Childcare Team reviewed our subscription service for providers looking to advertise their vacancies with us. Details and costs were emailed to providers in March and this information can also be found in our monthly newsletters.

The subscription service includes an annual subscription which allows providers to:

  • Post unlimited adverts on the vacancy page
  • Have vacancies advertised at Childcare Team training days and recruitment fairs
  • Have details of vacancies in our monthly newsletters
  • Have details of vacancies on our Facebook page and Twitter feed

To place a vacancy you need to confirm the subscription you will be taking out (we will send an invoice to you) and then provide details of the vacancy in a word document by email to childcareworkforce@wiltshire.gov.uk. Please include the information detailed in the Information required area below.

We will keep in contact with you during the period your vacancy is advertised, and you will be able to make changes e.g. extending the closing date at any time.

Sunny Days in Lyneham are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our professional and expanding team in our busy pre-school and club. You will play an important role in our management structure, leading and inspiring your team, and also confidently step up as Manager in their absence.

Freshford Pre-school has a vacancy for an outstanding Deputy Manager with SENCO responsibility.

Expected hours of work are 32 hours per week, term-time only. You will work Mondays 8.00am to 3.30pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8.30am to 3.30pm, Thursdays 8.30am to 2.30pm. An additional 4.5 hours per week during term-time will be paid for record keeping and assessment associated with play partner (key worker) responsibilities and general activity planning, which can be carried out at your home address at a time that is convenient to you.

Approved training and occasional special events, such as the end of year performance which take place outside normal Pre-school hours are paid on an overtime basis.

The post holder is entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year pro-rata, including Bank Holidays which must be taken during the school holidays. 2% employer contribution to a pension scheme, increasing in line with statutory requirements. The salary is £9.00 to £10.50 per hour, depending on experience.

The post will start on Monday 19th February 2018 if possible, an earlier start date can be negotiated.

  • Maintain the petty cash system and upkeep of records on to a spreadsheet.

  • Undertake filing, photocopying and any other office duties as required by the Nursery Manager.
  • Undertake any other duties within your capability and as can be reasonably expected from

Barnardo’s Redland Nursery

History of Service

Redland Nursery is set in the grounds of Redland County Primary School in Chippenham. We are registered to accommodate up to 56 children at any one time. Children are cared for in two age groups, Toddlers and Pre-school, each with its own play room and activities. There is a large outdoor play area and children also have occasional use of the school playing field for large physical play.

The Nursery is open 50 weeks a year from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. Main sessions are from 8am to 1pm and 1pm to 6pm as well as full time care. School time sessions are also available from 9am to 3pm.

The Nursery offers places to children in receipt of free entitlement at three years and Better2gether funding for two year olds. The Nursery accommodates children who have a range of abilities and backgrounds.
 
The Nursery was very proud to receive a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in 2016 with some outstanding features.

Primary Objectives of Service

There is an exciting opportunity to join our wonderful team to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant will be covering our senior post, primarily based within our Toddler Room, where you will lead the smooth running of the room, planning, preparing and implementing activities. As well as being a key worker for several children the senior role will involve being the lead member of staff to work with parents and families closely, and will support and lead the staff team to ensure good outcomes for all children.

As part of the leadership team you will spend approximately 50% of your time out of ratio and you will deputise for the Manager and support staff across the Nursery as a whole as needed.

Initial Specific Responsibilities

The post is for 30 hours per week, working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The successful applicant will also be flexible, working across both rooms and both age groups of 2-5 years.

• Leading the staff team to plan, prepare and implement activities to provide high quality education for all children

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within a purpose built Nursery which opened in May 2015 on the site of the Wellington Primary Academy in Tidworth. The Nest is registered for 30 children between the ages of 2 and 5 years and opens from 7.30am to 6.00pm daily.

Our setting is a large and airy ground floor building with substantial areas of outdoor space and most of the rooms have access to their own garden. We care for children from 3 months to 5 years and we provide a caring and safe environment for our children. With the help of our children we grow our own flowers and fruit & vegetables.

We are looking for staff who will be flexible, hardworking and passionate about children’s learning, play and development. You need to have a big smile, a nurturing and caring personality, be organised, patient and enthusiastic, come to work with a “can do” attitude, be prepared to constructively support your team and provide the best possible standard of care for our children.

We offer a full induction with ongoing mentoring support, a strong curriculum-planning programme based on EYFS initiatives and resources to aid creative implementation. We support and encourage our staff to continue their professional development through training.

We are now looking to recruit Nursery Practitioner(s) level 3 qualified with key worker experience and/or Qualified Nursery Assistants level 2 qualified with experience of working with children to work in the three different areas of the nursery (baby, toddler and pre-school wings).

These vacancies are full-time positions but we may also consider part time applications (16-25 hours per week).  We are offering an immediate start with shifts varying between 7.45am and 6.15pm. The salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.

Bright Stars Nursery in Westbury are looking for a confident and self-motivated Deputy Manager to join our Outstanding Team.

The successful applicant will be qualified to a level 3 minimum and have previous experience of leading a team either in a previous management role or as a room leader. In addition to the deputy manager role, you will also be responsible for leading a room with time out to fulfil your management responsibilities.

You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure we deliver high quality childcare and education and will be responsible for leading the team of approximately 20 staff in her absence.

Experience of safeguarding and sound knowledge of the EYFS is essential. Knowledge of the welfare requirements is beneficial.

Some of your key duties will include:

• Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
• Promoting positive behaviour management
• Room Leader and Key Person responsibilities
• Monitoring health and safety of children and staff
• Promoting strong relationships with the staff and parents
• Engaging in ongoing reflection including input into the SEF
• Support the Manager in reviews of policies and procedures and ensure staff are adhering to these
• Committed to supporting all children in making good progress and providing an inspirational learning environment and role modeling Outstanding practice.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 38 to 42 hours per week and shifts will be between the hours of 7.45am and 6.00pm.

Queensway Chapel Nursery wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking Senior Nursery Nurse for the 3-5’s Room to work alongside the Room Leader.

We are looking for a person who has NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent.

You will be expected to work with the Room Leader to:

• Plan and operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of the children in your care
• Support other nursery workers & assistants working in the 3-5’s room
• Help staff to prepare children’s records and meet with parents to discuss these
• Liaise with and support parents and other family members
• Work alongside parents of children with special needs
• Take responsibility for the management of the room in the absence of the Room Leader

This position is subject to DBS clearance and satisfactory references. Pay is £15,622 per annum and hours are 37 per week, all year round.

Nursery polo shirts and cardigans will be supplied. 30% discount for staff childcare. Sick pay may be paid for up to 12 weeks after 1 year’s service. You will get a 30 minute paid lunch break.
