Placing a vacancy – information for providers

On 1st April 2017 the Childcare Team reviewed our subscription service for providers looking to advertise their vacancies with us. Details and costs were emailed to providers in March and this information can also be found in our monthly newsletters.

The subscription service includes an annual subscription which allows providers to:

  • Post unlimited adverts on the vacancy page
  • Have vacancies advertised at Childcare Team training days and recruitment fairs
  • Have details of vacancies in our monthly newsletters
  • Have details of vacancies on our Facebook page and Twitter feed

To place a vacancy you need to confirm the subscription you will be taking out (we will send an invoice to you) and then provide details of the vacancy in a word document by email to childcareworkforce@wiltshire.gov.uk. Please include the information detailed in the Information required area below.

We will keep in contact with you during the period your vacancy is advertised, and you will be able to make changes e.g. extending the closing date at any time.

Box Kids Out of School Club is looking for enthusiastic bank staff to join our small friendly team to cover sickness at short notice, holidays and training. We care for children aged from 3 to 11 years in the picturesque village of Box. We believe that children learn best when they are playing and we encourage them to take risks. At our last Ofsted inspection we were awarded GOOD.
 
The hours could be 7.30am to 9.00am and/or 2.00pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. You need to be flexible with the hours you can cover, there are possible additional regular hours during school holidays and term-time.
 
We need the candidate to be 18 years of age or older, have a recognised childcare qualification (minimum Level 2), hold a current paediatric first aid certificate, have experience of working with children and have a full, clean driving licence to take the children to and from local schools using the club’s vehicles.

Main Duties:                                   

  • To support the other staff in delivering a safe, happy, caring and stimulating environment for all children, through a varied programme of high quality creative and imaginative activities which are age appropriate

Appletree Nursery in Calne currently have a vacancy for Nursery Manager at our busy Children’s Centre-based nursery.

Working alongside the Owner and Deputy Manager the successful person will already have some managerial and leadership experience. Great organisational skills are essential with a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification. They will be excellent communicators and demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm and desire to improve outcomes for children.

A secure knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and the Welfare Requirements will enable them to lead the nursery team effectively and by example. Some administrative duties will also be required, so a basic knowledge of MS Office would be beneficial however training can be given.

Keyday nursery is looking for a dynamic administrator to work within our small friendly team. The ideal candidate should have suitable experience in the role, be PC literate and have a knowledge of Word and Excel packages. The hours of work can be flexible to suit both the candidate and the nursery.

The main duties of the role will be to:

  • Manage the front door and welcome parents and children

Working Pattern:
Term-time and school holidays, fixed contract (one year maternity cover) and the opportunity for a permanent contract due to expansion.

Hours:
27 hours Monday to Friday only.
* Core hours: 2.30pm – 6.30pm.
* Additional 7 hours per week towards planning, preparation and meetings.

Salary:
£8.75per hour to £9.50 per hour dependent upon experience and qualifications, pension included.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Playwork, teaching or relevant childcare qualification
  • Two years experience of working with children from 4 – 11 years in a childcare, education or formal setting
  • Functional Maths or equivalent
  • Functional English or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NVQ level 4 in Playwork
  • Teaching or relevant childcare qualification
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene
