A civil naming ceremony is an opportunity to formally announce the names which have been chosen for your child or children and make your promises as parents of the child or children. Other adults may pledge to play a special role in the life of the child or children; these may be relatives or friends of the family, sponsors or guardians.
We offer ceremonies that include readings, music and the exchange of gifts in a choice of locations including;
- Wiltshire registration ceremony rooms
- members room at County Hall
- licenced ceremony venues such as a hotel (subject to an approval list and additional fees)
- a celebration at the venue of your choice (subject to an approval list and additional fees).
For further information visit the Ceremonies in Wiltshire website or call us on 0300 003 4570. Alternatively, visit your local registration office or email your enquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org. At busy times your call may be transferred so please leave your contact details and we will get back to you.
All bookings are subject to a reservation fee inclusive of VAT which is non refundable. The ceremony fee is due at least 6 weeks before the ceremony.
Fees are subject to review annually and are effective from 1 April. Any increase in fees will apply to any ceremony due to take place on or after 1 April even though a reservation fee has already been paid.
See fees for more information.
The birth must be registered and the birth certificate produced when booking the ceremony. Any parent can make the arrangements or anyone else who has parental responsibility or legal guardianship of the child. Parents don't need to be married.
