The Council is composed of 49 councillors, elected every four years. By electing County Councillors, the people of Wiltshire are allowing councillors to make decisions on their behalf in relation to the services provided by Wiltshire County Council.
This means that all councillors are democratically accountable to residents of their electoral division, and together represent the whole of Wiltshire. Members of the Council must also follow a code of conduct as set out in Wiltshire's Constitution.
Councillors will be appointed to all decision making, and consultative bodies that comprise the decision making structure of the County Council. These bodies are detailed within the Decision Making page of this website. You can also search for the memberships of all bodies, or search for your councillor using our Electoral Divisions finder.
