Outside Bodies
Individual members are invited to attend meetings of various groups, panels and bodies, that are not included within the decision making structure of the County Council in their capacity as a County Councillor, these appointments are referred to as 'Outside Body Appointments.
Wiltshire County Council appoints representatives to organisations covering a wide range of services, including:
- Educational Provision
- Environmental issues
- Social Care
In addition to the large number of appointments made to external organisations, appointments are also made to:
- The Local Government Association
- South West Regional Assembly
- South West UK Brussels Office
These appointments are made to ensure that Wiltshire has a voice in the wider community.
