Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD 12 March 2012

The council is consulting on a proposed submission draft of the Aggregate Minerals Site Allocations DPD.

This final round of formal consultation provides the opportunity to comment on the soundness of the plan before it is submitted, subject to Council approval, to the Secretary of State in the Summer of 2012 for independent examination and scrutiny.

Local HealthWatch 29 February 2012

As part of the Health and Social Care Bill, a new consumer champion for users of health and social care services will be created. This will be known as HealthWatch. HealthWatch will exist locally as Local HealthWatch. Nationally, there will be an organisation called HealthWatch England, which looks at services across England.

Wiltshire Council has a responsibility to ensure that Wiltshire has its own Local HealthWatch which, subject to the passage of the Health and Social care Bill, will be launched in October 2012.

We would like to receive your views on the term dates calendar being proposed for Wiltshire’s Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools for 2013/14. The deadline for responses is Friday 10 February 2012.

The results of this consultation will be collated and presented to the Joint Consultative Committee prior to the final recommended model being determined by the Cabinet Member for Children’s Services. All comments received will be taken into consideration during the final decision making process.

New draft Children and Young Peoples Plan 2012-2015 15 November 2011

A new Children and Young People's Plan 2012-2015 has been drafted and is now out for consultation. This is an important consultation as the Plan will inform priorities for children’s services and the focus of partnership working. The Plan is produced by the Wiltshire Children & Young People’s Trust (a multi-agency partnership which includes broad representation from children’s services across Wiltshire).

Wootton Bassett campus - second phase consultation 9 September 2011

The second phase of consultation is now underway on what is being proposed for a campus in the Wootton Bassett area.

Local people are being urged to have their say on the facilities they would like to see at a Wootton Bassett campus.

Views gathered in the first consultation made it clear that most residents would like library services to stay in the town centre and that the community needed a swimming pool.

Childcare Sufficiency Assessment 2011 20 March 2011 Wiltshire published its first Childcare Sufficiency Assessment Report in April 2008 along with a countywide action plan and 20 community area childcare plans. The second report has now been drafted and is out for consultation until 20 March 2011. A new action plan and childcare plans will be developed to focus work on filling the gaps identified in the report.

Corsham Community Campus 15 December 2010 Wiltshire Council is proposing to develop the current Springfield site in Corsham to create a 'community campus' providing a number of services for the Corsham community area all under one roof. The campus might include leisure, adult social care, youth services, a library, a cafe and internet services. Locating several services on one site will result in long-term savings in running and maintenance costs.
Childcare in Wiltshire - A Survey of Employers   Responses will feed into Wiltshire's Childcare Sufficiency Assessment which is a requirement of the Childcare Act 2006 and will be published in April 2011.

Wiltshire Local Transport Plan 2011–2026 Strategic Environmental Assessment 26 November 2010 European Directive 2001/42/EC and UK Statutory Instrument 2004/1633 both require the assessment of the effects that plans and programmes such as Local Transport Plans can have on the environment. This is known as Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) which Wiltshire Council is now consulting on.
