Consultation and research information
About this service
The Council regularly consults with the public and stakeholders on a range of issues and uses research to provide an evidence base to inform decision making throughout the Council.
The Council, often in partnership with the Police and Fire authorities, regularly undertakes research into customer and public satisfaction using a variety of methods including:
- Citizen's panels (People's Voice; Tomorrow's Voice and Carer's Voice)
- Household surveys
- Customer feedback reports
- Customer/user surveys
- Telephone surveys
- Online surveys
- Complaint analysis
Wiltshire and Swindon Intelligence Network
Reports and results from many of the research and consultation exercises are held on the Council's Intelligence Network database.
The Intelligence Network also hosts the Council's ACKnowledge e-consultation tool which provides the opportunity for people to have their say freely, online. ACKnowledge includes facilities to view consultation documents, participate in forums and straw polls and to fill out questionnaires online. Use the 'Consultation/ACKnowledge' tab on the Intelligence Network homepage to access this feature.
