Wiltshire Council supports a Black and Minority Ethnic Staff Forum attended by several enthusiastic staff from black and minority ethnic backgrounds. The purpose of the Forum is to provide mutual support, to help inform all staff about race equality and to advise management on how to improve the quality of working life for staff from black and minority ethnic groups.
Forum members are welcome from all departments and all levels within the organisation. Participation in the work of the Forum is viewed by Senior Managers as an important element in improving the Council’s performance on equality and diversity.
For more information about the Black and Minority Ethnic Staff Forum and other staff forums contact the equalities team
The forum is a vibrant place to exchange views and help provide an authoritive voice for BME staff whilst also working to increase the awareness and understanding of BME issues.
