Summary of Service

If you have a disability that is 'substantial and permanent', you can register as a disabled person with Wiltshire County Council.  We keep a register of disabled people living in the area to help plan services.

What are the benefits of being registered disabled?

Concessions for people who are registered may include:

  • May be eligible for Blue Badge
  • Reduced admission charges for leisure centres, cinemas, concerts, etc.
  • Reduced fishing license cost.
  • Some public transport and ferry companies offer discount at there discretion
  • You may qualify from extra points with housing societies
  • VAT Exemption for equipment to support your disability.

Who can be Registered?

Wiltshire County Council has a register of disabled people and a register of people who are blind and partially sighted. A medical examination and report is required for the blind and partially sighted register.
