Corporate credit card spending
HSBC purchasing cards are intended to be used for low value purchases where invoicing is not appropriate or possible, for example, supermarket purchases for establishments, where traditionally petty cash would have been used, or where goods can be purchased more cheaply online or are only available from an online supplier.
Senior Officers (Service Director level and above) names are shown within the data, but officers at levels below Service Director have had their names redacted.
Each cardholder has been assigned a cardholder reference to allow individual cardholders spending to be tracked over time.
Redacted Data
In some instances the supplier names and postcodes will state REDACTED - Sensitive Information. This data has been removed because it is considered personal and sensitive data. This relates to individuals who provide services such as: foster care; adoption; individual placements for vulnerable adults or children etc, and where it is felt by Wiltshire Council that publishing this data could jeopardise the service and individuals involved. The payment data has however been supplied, in line with government guidelines, to provide as full a picture as possible on services provided and the payments made in the period
Excluded Data
Please note that in line with government guidelines some payments will have been excluded from the dataset. They will only be excluded where the payment is not for a supply or a service, product or grant paid for by the council. Examples of types of payment excluded are: schools; pensions payments; adults receiving direct payments; carers of both children and adults; VAT; Refunds for services delivered by the council; deductions made from salaries; housing benefits; council tax refunds; non domestic rates refunds; parish precepts.
