People often feel nervous about coming forward and reporting things that they may have witnessed or be aware of. It is important to remember that those issues affect everybody and may be putting people at risk or costing both the council and the taxpayer money
It is of benefit to all residents of Wiltshire that any illegal activities are identified and stopped as soon as possible.
Policies and Procedures
Our whistleblowing policy is adopted to help people that have concerns over any wrongdoing within the council, i.e. unlawful conduct, financial malpractice or dangers to the public or the environment.

Benefit fraud is investigated by the Department for Work and Pensions. To report benefit fraud, call the National Benefit Fraud Hotline on 0800 854 440; or complete the DWP benefit fraud reporting form.
The local government transparency code affords the opportunity for residents to see how money is spent. The section in respect of local authorities is referred to in the UK Anti-Corruption Plan as an aid to making anti-corruption issues more transparent.
