One Council - the Workstreams
Work is now well underway towards bringing the five county wide authorities into one new organisation. The new authority will be called the Wiltshire Council and will come into being officially in April 2009. New elections will take place during May 2009. The transition plan (pdf 22Kb) 
shows the major activities that will need to be carried out, with an indication of when these will happen. The programme board (pdf 39Kb) explains who is involved in the transition and outlines the four main work streams
