Resources - Current Status
Workstream Status: December 2007
The priority for the workstream currently is to start to engage with the staff in the service areas within the workstream. The focus now is to:
- Work with the lead Officers to help them start to engage staff within the service areas for the workstream
- Outline the risks and issues that will need to be addressed to help shape what the workstream is going to look like
- Identify the broad project approach with the Lead Officers and their project teams
We held a workshop for Lead Officers at the end of November, at which they were given the green light to start to work more closely with the service area teams and the staff that will deliver the transformation for the services. So if you want to discuss matters regarding your service area you should be able to contact your respective lead officers.
To begin with, this will mean some very simple actions between now and January. These would include:
- Data capture of information on service budgets and staffing information
- Identifying key service requirements for day one of a new authority
- Identifying key issues and risks for each service area
- Identifying opportunities and options for early transitioning of teams
This will inform the development of an updated draft of the plan for the workstream which the Programe Board have requested to review in January. The plan will balance the need to:
- Deliver key services and requirements for day one of the new Council
- Deliver early opportunities for transformation or quick wins
- The priorities that will help achieve the vision for the new authority
- The availability of resources to deliver the service transformation within the required timescales
