North Wiltshire, West Wiltshire and Kennet have had Community Area Partnerships for some years, with some such as Tidworth having a very active partnership pulling in funding for over a decade. We would now like to develop Community Partnerships across South Wiltshire, so they can work alongside the new Community Boards in getting things done at a local level.
Please come along to the Guildhall in Salisbury on 13th May from 6pm to 8.30 pm to examine the benefits of partnership working and help develop a process for getting them up and running in South Wiltshire. Food and refreshments will be provided.
The event is jointly organised and/or supported by the South Wiltshire Strategic Alliance, the Wiltshire Federation of Community Partnerships, Wiltshire County Council and Salisbury District Council.

Note: Community Area Partnerships in the rest of Wiltshire typically cover a market town and surrounding parishes. Their members include Councillors from all 3 tiers, plus residents groups, voluntary groups, organisations and businesses in the area, who meet to identify local issues and develop a ‘community action plan’ which is then monitored for progress. There are usually sub-groups on topics of interest (eg. Transport or Community safety) that involve volunteers, businesses or other groups to take forward actions that cannot be delivered by statutory agencies alone.
