Purpose: To support the Healthier Wiltshire Steering Group and the Safer Wiltshire Executive by preparing a strategy and related action plans for the prevention of harm as a result of alcohol.
1. To reduce alcohol related crime and disorder with a focus on high risk areas through – early intervention; reduction in re-offending; enforcement activity/intervention; local approaches and increasing the sense of safety.
2. To reduce alcohol related harm to individuals especially high risk groups by:
3. To review and develop organisations’ (including schools) alcohol policies, educational programmes and services for their employees, in liaison with Healthier Wiltshire Exemplar Employer Task Group.
4. To act as a forum for gathering best practice.
5. To disseminate information and advise on good practice foremployers, schools and other organisationsin Wiltshire.
6. To encourage sensible drinking habits through public campaigns, awareness raising and training programmes via employers, schools and other establishments and through community engagement. For useful information about alcohol and drinking visit the OP XS Campaign
7. To review results from Schools and Public Sector Surveys and advise on target setting for the Local Public Service Agreement (LPSA).
8. To work with Street Scene Group to ensure safer pubs, clubs and city and town centres.
