Introduction

Once more this has been a very busy month; developing the new LAA and reporting on the current LAA.

There is now much information available on the WCC website about the new LAA, details of this are below.

07/08 LAA – update on progress

The reports for Quarter 3 (Oct 07– Dec 07) are now available on the internet

http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/wiltshire-laa-q3-returns.pdf

At the end of quarter 3, approx 68% of targets were reported as on target to be successful.

The New LAA – update on development

You may now have seen the Action Initial Contact list which has a summary of the actions proposed to deliver the big ambitions plus initial contacts for each of these actions.  Please contact an Initial Contact if you feel you can contribute to an action’s delivery.  Please follow this link to view.

Ambition leads have now been asked to co-ordinate the production of action plans as the next part of the process.  These will be detailed description of the activity planned; what, where, who, how, with what partners and so on.  Also considered in the action plans will be the performance management regime (who will measure & report what) plus considerations about risk and equality.

These action plans will reviewed against a set of challenge criteria to ensure that they are realistic, well-thought out and appropriate.  Later on a workshop will be held to allow ‘peer review’ of the action plans to ensure a very focussed and robust LAW/LAA.

At the same time we are working on reducing the number of NIS that are being considered in the LAW/LAA as we need to work with GOSW to reduce these to a maximum of 35 (plus the mandatory 16 Education NIS).

Meetings with GOSW are continuing to ensure the negotiation of the indicators and targets is a two way process.

LAA and Performance reward grant

Details of the reward scheme are still awaited.

STOP PRESS:

The ‘Final Definitions’ for 138 of the 198 NIS indicators has just been published.  For more details follow the link below:
