What is the Local Agreement for Wiltshire?
The Local Agreement for Wiltshire (LAW) was an agreement between organisations in Wiltshire to take action over the three year period to March 2011. This included within it an agreement between Wiltshire and central government known as the local area agreement (LAA). The LAW is where the most important ambitions for Wiltshire have been addressed and organisations committed to deliver action as a result.
As a result of the change of government in 2010, LAAs were abolished. Therefore, the end of the term of the Wiltshire LAW 2008-2011 has meant the document has not been renewed.
Nevertheless, continuous performance improvement and action to deliver results is at the very heart of how the council and our partners seek to operate for the future success of Wiltshire.
