What is the Wiltshire Coordinating Group?

The Wiltshire Coordinating Group (WCG) is the action-focused working group which will bring challenges, issues and successes of the Wiltshire family of partnerships together.  to assist the Wiltshire Assembly to develop, update, and coordinate delivery of the Wiltshire Sustainable Community Strategy. It will also to support the Wiltshire Public Service Board in its responsibility to approve and deliver the Local Agreement for Wiltshire (including the Local Area Agreement (LAA)). Its main role will be ‘cross-cutting strategy development, integration and coordination, and evaluation which will be focused on outcomes. It is accountable to the Wiltshire Public Service Board.

Who is on the Coordinating Group?

It is important that the membership of WCG is representative of the current and planned work that the Wiltshire family of partnerships is engaged with. Current membership includes:

  • Representatives from the Thematic Delivery Partnerships
  • A representative from Wiltshire Forum of Community Area Partnership (WFCAP) to link with the community areas
  • A representative of the voluntary and community sector

Membership of the WCG will be kept under review to ensure that it remains appropriate

What does the Coordinating Group do?

  • It brings together the aims and actions of the Thematic Delivery Partnerships. In particular, it aims to look for opportunities for us to join up work better together so that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Most strategic work will happen within Thematic Delivery Partnerships – WCG will ensure that the delivery partnerships work together
  • It engages in cross-themed shared learning, providing members with opportunities to make links with agendas that would not necessarily be made in normal day-to-day work
  • It feeds co-ordinated strategy into the Assembly and the Wiltshire Public Service Board to inform their work
  • It has a strong role in coordination and evaluation
  • It assists in planning future conferences of the Wiltshire Assembly

When will it meet?

The frequency of meetings from January 2012 is to be confirmed. This will likely be every six to eight weekds, but it will vary during the year to reflect the current agenda.
