What is the Wiltshire Coordinating Group?

The Wiltshire Coordinating Group (WCG) is a small action focused working group which will bring issues together to assist the Wiltshire Assembly to develop, update, and coordinate delivery of the Wiltshire Sustainable Community Strategy. It will also to support the Wiltshire Public Service Board in its responsibility to approve and deliver the Local Agreement for Wiltshire (including the Local Area Agreement (LAA)). Its main role will be ‘cross-cutting strategy development, integration and coordination, and evaluation which will be focused on outcomes. It is accountable to the Wiltshire Public Service Board.

Who is on the Coordinating Group?

Representatives from the Thematic Delivery Partnerships and a representative from Wiltshire Forum of Community Area Partnership, including voluntary and community sector representation.
It is chaired by the Chief Executive of the Council
It is important that the Coordinating Group has cross sector representation.If necessary ‘top ups’ will be used to ensure that there are at least two representatives from the voluntary sector andone representative from the business sector.
Partnerships nominated representatives to cover the different types of meetings. For any partnerships still to be formed, the representative may change as the partnership is established. The Coordinating Group has a representative from WFCAP for community areas.
Membership of the WCG will be kept under review to ensure that it remains appropriate

What does the Coordinating Group do?

It brings together strategies from Thematic Delivery Partnerships - refining, checking, and looking for gaps & synergies/opportunities, so that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Most strategic work will happen within Thematic Delivery Partnerships – the Coordinating group will ensure that the delivery partnerships work together.
It feeds this co-ordinated strategy into the Assembly and supports the Wiltshire Public Service Board
It has a strong role in coordination, evaluation and performance management

When will it meet?

It will meet about every 6 weeks. The frequency of meetings will vary during the year to reflect the performance cycle and Local Area Agreement timetable.
