Council tax
Council tax is a local tax, set by councils to help pay for local services. It is based on the value of a property and applies to all domestic properties.
Wiltshire Council collects council tax on behalf of a number of local authorities including Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, town councils and parish councils. The amounts you pay, along with a lot of other useful information, are shown in the council tax leaflets sent to every household at the beginning of each year.
