The council provides assistance and services for many different types of housing need. We have a number of sheltered housing schemes across the district and have a community alarm service called CareConnect to help people live independently. There is also a provision for emergency accommodation and the deposit bond and rent in advance scheme.

High property prices have meant that many people simply cannot afford their own home, and have to pay out money in rent with no return. Low cost home ownership schemes can help people on lower incomes to buy and look after their home.

We provide general housing advice, assistance with home repairs and home energy efficiency information.
