Tenants are reminded that, although the council is responsible for the structure of all its properties, the responsibility for the contents rests with the tenant. You should ensure that you have sufficient insurance cover for all your possessions, furnishings, etc, and that you insure against all the usual risks, such as fire, theft and flood.
The council now operates its own Home Contents Insurance Scheme available to all council tenants. If you are interested in registering onto the scheme please contact the housing department on (01722) 434294.
