Loft and cavity wall insulation grants and assistance

Wiltshire Warm and Well Insulation Scheme

The Wiltshire Warm and Well Scheme has been set up to increase substantially the number of well insulated homes throughout Wiltshire. Grants are available for loft and cavity wall insulation. Having your home properly insulated will conserve energy and save money on heating bills.

Even if you have some loft insulation it may not be sufficient, as the latest recommended standard for loft insulation is 270mm, over 10 inches.

The scheme is available to all home owners or those who rent privately (with their landlord’s permission) even if you work or have a private pension. There may be a cost to pay but the price is reduced substantially through the scheme.

You may be eligible to have the work done free of charge if:

  • You are over 60.
  • You receive certain benefits.
  • You earn less than £16,000 gross each year.
  • You have school-age children and earn less than £22,000 gross each year.
  • Someone in your household has been made redundant/lost overtime/taken lower paid work/or is unemployed and your household earns less than £30,000 gross each year.

Please note that all grants are subject to survey and availability. Certain restrictions apply which may mean there is a cost to pay (for example if the area to be insulated is larger than the area permitted under grant funding or if the cost of the works exceeds that permitted under grant funding). These restrictions can be discussed further at the time of the survey.
