Special Educational Needs - Wiltshire Educational Psychology Service
Wiltshire County Council has a Children and Families Branch including Social Services and Education professionals.
Educational psychologists are based in Local Education Teams (LETs) with colleagues from the Learning Support Service and Education Welfare Service. It is always a good idea to discuss your child's needs with the SENCO at your child's school, in the first instance. However, Educational Psychologists can offer further support and advice. You can contact them at the Local Education Team addresses given below.
Educational Psychologists use psychological principles of learning, motivation, behaviour, personality and child development to advise parents and professionals on how best to promote progress in children, or groups of children, and young people. They work with schools to try and raise achievement and seek ways of including children with special needs in mainstream education.
