What do we offer?
The PI Service is part of the Children & Families Branch of the Department for Children and Education. The team consists of specialist Advisory Teachers and a Specialist Pastoral Support Worker.
We work with schools and pre-school settings to assist them develop the potential of children and young people with a physical impairment or significant medical needs. This includes:
Parents, Early Years Practitioners, Teachers, SENCO's, TA's, Headteachers, Governors, Therapists, Community Paediatricians, Social Care OT's and all other professionals supporting the child or young person.
Referrals are usually received from the Early Years Services, Health Professionals or schools. All referrers must obtain parental permission before requesting our involvement. The preferred method is by completion of a Notification Form but phone referrals are also accepted.
