Summary of Service

All employees are entitled to regular appraisal and supervision. Incorporated into this will be the opportunity for employees to identify with their manager their work related training and development needs. As an organisation, we are fully committed to Investor in People standards and offer opportunities for staff to undergo nationally accredited qualification courses as well as providing a variety of internal and external training.

The county council recognises that its employees are its most valuable resource. It aims, therefore, to achieve best practice in all aspects of the recruitment, management and development of its employees. The following charter for staff has been developed in support of this.
