Planning Consultation
We have a comprehensive system in place to ensure that planning applications and planning policy documents are publicised in order to raise awareness and invite comments from the local community.

We consider all comments received (also known as contributions or representations), providing they relate to relevant planning issues. All comments received have to be made available to the public, so any comments made "in confidence" or anonymously cannot be accepted. It is very important to meet consultation closing deadlines or your comments may not be taken into account.
Planning Applications
As the Minerals and Waste Planning Authority we determine applications involving mineral extraction, management of waste, and related developments. We are also responsible for determining planning applications for our own development relating to our own services, such as schools, libraries and roads.

Please note that Wiltshire County Council is not the Planning Authority for other types of planning applications such as housing, industrial, commercial or leisure developments. For information on such applications, please contact the appropriate District or Borough Council direct.
Planning Policy
Wiltshire County Council and Swindon Borough Council jointly publish the Minerals and Waste Development Framework. These policy documents set out a wide range of issues associated with planning for mineral extraction and waste management.
