Wiltshire Streetscene A - Z
Street Scene is one of the four key priority projects adopted by the Wiltshire Strategic Board (WISB) and incorporates a number of services that have an important impact on the 'street' and public open spaces in terms of their appearance and condition. Street Scene aims to improve the attractiveness, safety, cleanliness and usability of Wiltshire’s Street and lane scene.
Wiltshire street scene is made up of the following group:
- Kennet District Council
- North Wilts District Council
- Salisbury District Council
- West Wilts District Council
- Wiltshire County Council
Together we are working to develop and co-ordinate an approach that will target the issues the public have raised through recent surveys, these targets include:
- Quality and location of street furniture
- Condition of roads and pavements
- Well lit public spaces
- Litter free town centres
- Weed killing and maintenance of grassed areas
- Enforcement of parking restrictions
- Removal of abandoned vehicles
What will we do to improve these areas:
In partnership with the District Councils and other organizations we aim to improve our management and co-ordination and to develop a joint approach, aimed at improving the street scene services that we all provide.
To date we have agreed to co-ordinate our own work wherever possible with that of the district councils, for example linking District Council cleaning schedules with County Council Parish Steward work programmes.
