Street Scene in Wiltshire is about keeping our streets and open spaces looking clean and tidy.  It is one of the few services that in some way or another affect all of the population living, working and visiting Wiltshire.

Street Scene is concerned with Litter, Graffiti, Abandoned Vehicles, Lighting, Street Furniture, Café Culture, Condition of Roads and Anti Social Behaviour.

Street Scene is about working in partnership with the local district Councils of North Wilts, Kennet, Salisbury, West Wiltshire, Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire County Council.

Litter

Who is responsible for emptying the litter and dog bins?

  • Responsibility is down to the council that owns it, this could be District, Town or parish.  In the first instance contact your local District Council.

Who is responsible for cleaning the streets and how often are they cleaned?

  • The District councils are responsible for street cleansing, to find out the frequency please use the Street scene  A – Z.

How can I request a new bin or report a one that needs emptying?

  • Contact your local District Councils

Street Furniture

What is street furniture

  • Street furniture can range between public seats to non-illuminated and illuminated road signs and bollards.

Who is responsible for street furniture?

  • Responsibility is down to the council that owns it, this could be county district town or parish. In the first instance contact your District Council

Who can I contact to donate a seat?

  • In the first instance contact your local Town or Parish Council.

Lighting

Who do I contact to report a broken lights?

Who is responsible for the lighting?

Condition of Roads

Who is responsible for maintaining the roads in Wiltshire?

  • Wiltshire County Council Highways department

Who do I contact if I have a problem with the condition of the road?

Café Furniture

Who is responsible for allowing Café’s and Restaurants to put chairs and tables on the pavement?

  • In the first instance, please apply for a licence from your local district council.

Grass Cutting

Who is responsible for maintaining the open spaces and cutting the grass.

  • Responsibility lies with who ever owns the land which could be your District, Town, Parish, Housing Association, MOD or private landowner.  In the first instance contact your local district council.

Graffiti

Who is responsible for cleaning up the graffiti

  • The District Councils have a responsibility for this service.

Abandoned Vehicles

Who do I report an abandoned vehicle to?

  • If you have any queries regarding this service, contact your local district council in the first instance.
