Gypsy and traveller information
About this service
A number of local authorities already provide information leaflets or have material on their websites. In April 2003, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) and Home Office noted that "Use of websites to provide information on local policies accords wells with the Government's local Egovernment strategy".
We have produced four informatory booklets - one for each of the areas in Wiltshire - which are distributed to Gypsies and Travellers, local authority / Police officers, landowners, members of the public and any other interested party upon request. Each booklet includes extracts from the council's unauthorised camping policy, and provides information about all relevant Gypsy and traveller services and first points of contact, together with details of many local community facilities and national telephone Helplines.
