Annual monitoring report
What is the annual monitoring report ?
The annual monitoring report (AMR) monitors and reviews how well the council has performed against the timetable set out in the local development scheme (LDS). It is part of the local development framework (LDF).
The effectiveness of policies within development plan documents (DPDs) and how well the council is performing against national and local targets are also monitored.
The Wiltshire Local Area Agreement 2008 to 2011 prioritizes the delivery of local annual targets for National Indicators 154 and 155, which relate to increasing the overall levels of housing, including affordable housing, in Wiltshire.
Progress on the Wiltshire and south Wiltshire core strategies will be particularly important if these targets are to be met.
When is the annual monitoring report published?
Wiltshire Council must publish the annual monitoring report by 31 December. The AMR covers the period from 1 April of the previous year to 31 March of the year in which it is published.
There is now just one AMR published each year for the whole of the county. In December 2008, the former district councils jointly published an AMR and the former County Council published a separate one for minerals and waste issues.
Prior to this, the former district councils published individual AMRs, whereas the former County Council published its own AMR on minerals and waste issues.
