Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) is the result of a Department of Health initiative to improve access to the provision of equipment and minor adaptations.
Provision is for people of all ages and client groups living within Wiltshire County Council boundaries or registered with a Wiltshire GP.
One service provider has been contracted to provide the Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES). They are commissioned to deliver, collect, maintain, clean and service all equipment provided as the result of an assessment by a prescribing professional. They also undertake minor adaptations to users accommodation to enable independent living within their home environment.
The service operates 24 hours 7 days a week to provide an out of hours emergency delivery service and to attend to the breakdown of equipment.
You will need to be assessed by a health or social care professional to ascertain that your needs meet the criteria for provision.
Discuss your situation with any health or social care professional who will either directly undertake an assessment of your needs or refer you to the relevant colleague.
For example, this could be your GP, District Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.
