Work it in English

This course will help you to understand the importance of English used in workplaces and how we need to change how we speak depending on who we are speaking to. It will help learners to become more familiar with formal language, when to use it and the importance of using correct language.

This is a small, classroom-based course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.

This course is for parents and carers who wish to improve their English which will help them to get a job and successfully communicate with their colleagues.

Any adult family member or carer who would like to develop their confidence with formal English supporting their children with their learning in this area.

  • To identify why English is important in the work place and where it might be used
  • To understand the difference between formal and informal language and which situations it should be used in in the work place
  • To read and write in formal ways to communicate
  • Practice using language and customer service skills

This is run as 1 ½ or 2 hour sessions over 5 weeks with some activities to do at home to help you practice your skills.
