Summary of Service
The Central Bidding Unit provides information and advice to internal departments and external organisations on bidding for and managing external funds. A monthly update on funding opportunities is circulated to several hundred recipients and bespoke searches for funding opportunities are carried out for internal and external customers..
Needs
Any community organisation can contact the Central Bidding Unit with a request for funding advice. The Central Bidding Unit works closely with the Charities Information Bureau who also provides advice on bidding for external funding.
Information on funding opportunities is produced electronically each month. In addition the Central Bidding Unit organise four funding events each year open to everyone and including speakers from funders.
Central Bidding Unit work with internal Wiltshire County Council departments to put together partnerships and individual bids for external funds.
Eligibility
- All internal WCC departments
- Partner organisations i.e. District Councils, voluntary and community organisations where they are working with WCC to secure additional funds
