• Is there someone who is responsible for making sure that the organisation keeps up to date with guidance on safeguarding both children and adults and who can give advice if someone has concerns?
• Do you always take up references on your staff and volunteers?
• Do you always undertake CRB checks?
• Does your organisation have a zero tolerance of abuse?
• Do you have internal safeguarding adults’ policy, procedure and guidance?
• Does this internal procedure have clear links into the Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults’ in Swindon and Wiltshire 1mb ?
• How do you ensure that your staff and volunteers understand about the abuse of vulnerable adults, what action to take and to whom they should report?
• Do staff and volunteers understand what is meant by confidentiality?
• How do you deal with allegations of abuse that are made against your staff and volunteers?
• What other policies and procedures do you have in place to ensure that people are safe?
• Do your staff and volunteers know what to do if they have concerns that a child may at risk of harm?
• How prepared is your organisation for the introduction of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006)?
