Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) / Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) vetting of contract supplier staff
From 1 December 2012, the Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) is now called the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and CRB checks are now called DBS checks.
Wiltshire Council are an umbrella organisation and can carry out checks for other Organisations who have substantial, unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults. The DBS has access to personal records held by the Police, The Department of Health and The Department of Education, ensuring the best possible scrutiny of applicants
Our recruitment team will provide access to our online DBS checking system, enabling the umbrella body and the applicant to complete their DBS application online.The disclosure will be received direct from DBS by the applicant and umbrella body simultaneously.Close
There are two levels of CRB checks:
The level of clearance you require will depend on the type of work the applicant undertakes.
The cost for DBS checks is set by the DBS.
We will make a charge for administering the umbrella services.
Administrative charge is £18 per application.
As an umbrella body we can process DBS applications on behalf of organisations.
