THE NEXT phase of public consultation is about to begin on a plan setting out the transport priorities and targets in Wiltshire over the next five years.
The Wiltshire Local Transport Plan (LTP) will set out the county council's transport objectives, plans and targets for the period from 2006/07 to 2010/11.
The county council has produced a consultation paper seeking the views of residents, transport users, businesses and others.
The paper contains background information on the plan and a questionnaire, which must be replied to in time for the deadline of May 27.
Alan Feist, assistant director of environmental services at Wiltshire County Council, said: "The Local Transport Plan sets out the transport priorities for Wiltshire over the next five years, so it is important that people let us know what they think at this stage."
The consultation paper is available from libraries, tourist information centres and council offices.
Alternatively, the document can be found on the county council's website, www.wiltshire.gov.uk/transport/publications, by calling 01225 713470, or by emailing transportplanning@wiltshire.gov.uk
A provisional version of the LTP has to be submitted to the Department for Transport by the end of July 2005, and a final version produced by the end of March 2006.
