Wiltshire and Swindon Archives (formerly known as Wiltshire and Swindon Record Office) provide access to written and visual records left behind by Wiltshire and Swindon residents from the 12th century to the present day. These records continue to have legal value as evidence of what was said and done, but can also be used for various kinds of historical research including family history, house history, and local history, among many others.
Wiltshire and Swindon Archives form part of the services provided at Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.
We are normally open Tuesday - Saturday 9.30 am - 5.30 pm
Please note that during our open day on Saturday September 27th, no original documents will be produced from the strongrooms. We apologise for any convenience this may cause.
