A printed map of Wiltshire by John Andrews and Andrew Dury 1773
Produced as a set of 18 sheets to cover the county, this is generally considered to be one of the finest examples of an 18th century commercial map. Despite its small scale the amount of detail shown is impressive. The larger houses, and their gardens and parks, are a particular feature - deliberately so - as it was hoped that the named owners would be prompted to buy the set.
Scale 2 inches to 1 mile.
