Restrictions
Certain kinds of judicial, medical and local government records may be closed to public access for periods ranging from 30 to 100 years. Usually these restrictions are in the interests of protecting the privacy of named individuals. However, the public interest in restricting access to information will need to be weighed against the public interest in making it available, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please contact us in the event of any uncertainty.
Access to documents requiring conservation may also be restricted in the interests of protecting the documents from further damage.
