The BBC and libraries are promoting some exciting books we've picked out from our everyday stock which are just perfect for the reader in a hurry, someone who doesn't want to plough through a huge novel, or someone who has always found reading a little challenging. Books by popular authors, with interesting topics or stories.

All in all one in every five people has difficulty with reading or writing, from problems spelling, grammar, to being able to fill in forms and read information leaflets. A visit to your library to see what help we can give, including pointing you to confidential advice, helpful magazines, and a special EastEnders DVD, may just prove to be the encouragement you need to brush up on those rusty skills. We can tell you the ways you can do this.
You might just want to pick up a few quick books to find a story that whets your appetite. You'll be in the right place at the library!
If you've been spurred on by BBC RaW, then our "Skills For All" collections can be found at all of our libraries:
It's not just about reading either, the collections also include help for those of us who have always sheepishly admitted that we never quite got on with maths at school, or for whom computers are a bit of a mystery! Look out for some PC taster sessions soon too.
