Books and Reading Choices
Our library staff are passionate about stories, books, and reading. So we’re pleased to be able to help you choose the right read for you.
You can ask at your local library, check out displays (it’s ok to take the books!), or look for the “Shelf Talkers” we’ll be providing from the autumn of 2008 – examples of what our staff have read and what they’ve thought of it.
Online, our comprehensive “Reading Lists” page can provide suggestions, as well as listing some of the following:
- Recent book award winners (for example the Man Booker Shortlist for 2007)
- What our library reading groups are reading (such as Warminster)
- Popular titles in our libraries
- What to read post-Harry Potter
- Crime novels through sub genres (for example, British Police)
- Historical novels (for example, Victorian)
- Local studies books (for example for Stonehenge)
Why not give it a try? We’ll be keeping the lists updated regularly throughout the year.
